Todson Adds MET Helmets

Todson Launches MET Helmets in the US

Italian helmet company, MET, debuted in the United States at Interbike with Todson, Inc.  Founded in 1987, this is the first time MET’s line has been available in the United States.  “MET is one of Europe’s top 3 helmet brands”,  says Todson owner, Neal Todrys.  “The line is comfortable, stylish, and focused.  It offers competitive pricing and we’ll be making it easy for shops to test the waters.” he continued.

Todson will offer a full range of MOUNTAIN, ROAD, and ACTIVE helmets, for a total of 13 models including the exciting new Parachute, the world’s lightest full-face helmet suitable for downhill, enduro, and even BMX.  MET models come in either a single UNI size or two sizes (M and L) to make stocking and fitting that much easier for the dealer and consumer.  A stringent MAP Policy will be in place from the start and Todson will offer special incentives to new dealers.
MET is based near Lake Como, Italy, and brings extensive experience in the helmet manufacturing and product development.  Great style, 360 degree retention throughout the line, GEL O2 padding, exclusive Air Scale coolness rating and a new retention adjustment system helps make the line easy to sell on the shop floor.  International Sales Manager for MET SpA Jo McAleer added, “We are looking forward to offering the American cyclist and retailer a strong alternative in their choice of helmet.  Our new collection has been well received in Europe, particularly the Parachute which is the lightest full face enduro helmet at 700g that complies also with the ASTM standard.  Todson’s experience and astute focus on the American market makes them the perfect partner for us.”  MET sponsors the MTN-Qhubeka team currently competing in the Vuelta a España as well as a myriad of gravity athletes throughout the world.

Since 1987 MET SpA is unrivaled in the field of developing innovative protective gear for cyclists.  The company head office is located in Talamona, a small town in the heart of the Italian Alps.  It is no coincidence that the MET brand has always been associated with the values that characterize its Alpine heritage:  efficiency, attention to detail, design, innovation, high performance, reliability and sustainable development.

Todson will have the MET line-up available to ship starting in January 2015.
